Signing Times...and a contest

Photobucket

This is one of the reasons that we LOVE the videos from Signing Times. John is so darn funny when he is watching them, plus he's learning a ton more sign from them and so are we. Can you tell that he's feeling good?

Okay here's for the contest. I'm not sure of the prize yet, something homemade, something nice, I'll think on it or maybe let the winner suggest/ask for something.

So the winner will be able to tell me what John was thinking/watching that inspired this. He spent hours today doing this, he goes back and watches the same segment of Alton Brown's show and then comes back and does some more of these. At this moment he is watching that segment again and I know that the fussing is from lack of paper.

As you can see John had a fantastic time dyeing eggs, fingers and such with his dad. I tried to get a picture of him dropping the eggs in the dye and the big splashes that occurred, but missed those. The last picture is of John's vest and toy bag that I knitted for him, it's just a crazy first project had some wool and some needles and just had to do something with them, but he likes it and it kept him warm so it worked out well.

Will we ever get to Latin in our little homeschool, who knows, but we certainly know what John's nickname is when he's feeling good! Of course right now we are home from Good Friday services giving him one more day to recover from the nasty cold that he caught. So while I'm typing this the light is going on, and off, and on and off, then there is the clinking of spice jars from the spice rack that he accidentally tore off the wall with his chair, the rattle of the metal lid on the spice jar because he can open those now, and of course whenever I turn to look at him he has the hugest grin, bigger than his whole head and his eyes are glowing with mischief. Oh and just in case you are wondering, no, he isn't tall enough to turn on the water in the faucet by himself, I turned it on for him, but then the last time that I did so he politely stood there and used the little scoop to fill up some cups and such that were in the sink, this time I knew that the giggling was trouble. And now the lights are flashing, faster, and faster, and faster, and the giggling, oh the giggling.

Wordless Wednesday - well almost

Photobucket

He's still not really riding the trike, but he sure had fun trying and is closer than ever before. Of course when you are 5 and have a power chair that goes as fast as your dad can run there's not lots of incentive to learn to ride something else.
